Finnish footwear brand Tarvas first won a piece of our menswear-loving hearts when they introduced their Explorer shoe a few years back. The subdued suede sneaker with outdoor DNA and the chops to stand up to unpredictable Nordic weather conditions remains perfectly minimalist.
This week though, Tarvas expands on its genre-blurring footwear line with the introduction of the new Easy Hiker, an instant classic crossover crafted in Portugal from European sourced materials and components.
Carrying over the brand's signature wraparound mudguard first introduced on the Explorer, the Easy Hiker ($379) builds on its outdoor capabilities by pairing a minimal upper with a grippy, chunky Vibram sole made from natural rubber. Wearers get their pick from nine earth-toned shades made from premium Italian-sourced leather, suede, and Cordura to suit their wardrobe. Inside, the Easy Hiker delivers all-day comfort with its recycled latex insole topped with leather and a breathable mesh lining.
We can easily imagine pairing these with a pair of casual hiking pants on the trail or some double-knees around town. Put your styling skills to work, and you could surely dress up the brown full-grain leather shoe for a more formal get-together, too. Regardless of venue, the Tarvas Easy Hiker should do the trick.
